The lab set up for corona testing at the National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) at Sector 39 in Noida will be state-of-the-art. The lab will be fitted with 12 RTPCR machines.

 Apart from that 4 RNA extraction machines will also be installed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the labs in Noida, Kolkata and Mumbai through video conferencing on Monday at 4.30 pm. The lab has a capacity of 6,000 testing per day.

However, the status of where the samples will come from for testing is not yet clear. All three labs have been set up by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Samples of suspected patients of 3,000 crore in Kolkata and 1,200 crore in Mumbai will be tested.

 Starting today, all these labs are equipped with Bio Safety Level-2 which is required for testing Covid. This will be the largest corona testing lab in Uttar Pradesh. The National Institute of Biological Sciences (NIB) at Sector-62 is currently undergoing the highest 1,000 tests. Apart from that, Jims, Infant Hospital, JP, Shardani together this number is more than 2,000 every day.

The lab at Noida is also likely to test patient samples from western Uttar Pradesh. However, no official of the district administration or health department has clear information. It is hoped that the test report of the patients will be available in 2-3 days due to the lab tharu. It is currently 5-7 days since the RTPCR report was received.
