Ambaji: Gujarat government's biggest decision, power is now in the hands of the government

Ambaji Yatradham Authority will be formed to increase the convenience of tourists visiting Ambaji Yatradham. To achieve this objective, Ambaji Area Development and Pilgrimage Tourism Regulation Bill 2020 has been unanimously passed in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly today.

 Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that the state government was committed to the integrated development of Ambaji Yatradham.

He said that 11 members including chairman / vice-chairman would be appointed in the Ambaji Tourism Authority. Donations from devotees in the Ambaji Temple Trust will not have to be given to the proposed authority. Provisions have been made in the new law for the operation of the trust to remain the same and for the rights of the trust to continue. The role of this authority will be effective in providing happiness and facilities to the millions of devotees who come to Darshan at Bhadarvi Poonam fair.

Introducing the Ambaji Yatradham Ambaji Area Development and Yatradham Tourism Regulation Bill at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly today, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government has determined and planned in a timely manner for the integrated development of the holy pilgrimages in the state.

 As the number of pilgrims at Ambaji continues to increase from Gujarat and across the country, the state government has taken this important decision to set up an Ambaji Area Development and Pilgrimage Tourism Regulatory Authority as there is an urgent need for integrated and well-planned development of the area. After the passage of the Bill, after the formation of this Authority, it will exercise the powers as prescribed in the Bill and perform the duties prescribed.

Donations from devotees in the Ambaji Temple Trust do not have to be given to the proposed authority. Provision has been made in this Bill to ensure that the functions of the Trust remain the same and the functions and rights of the Trust continue. To provide well-organized planning, infrastructure facilities and promote safe tourism to Ambaji Temple, Gabbar, Kumbharia, Koteshwar and surrounding areas.

Donations from devotees do not have to be given to the proposed authority

A special authority body has been formed for institutional arrangements to provide town planning, development control, infrastructural facilities, regulation and management of pilgrimage tourism activities, safe pilgrimage tourism. Land acquisition will also be done under this statutory provision for development.
