Meteorological Department Rainfall forecast for next 2 days in Gujarat: Find out when and where the areas will be affected
With the monsoon parting in Gujarat, the meteorological department has again forecast moderate to light rains in the state for the next 48 hours. Rain alert has been issued in some parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra. The state has so far grown to 126 per cent.

The monsoon on one hand in the state is going through the final phase. The state is currently witnessing a double season. However light rain is forecast in some places in the state for the next two days.
Rainfall is forecast for the next 2 days in the state, according to the meteorological department. Vadodara, including Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, is likely to receive light to moderate rains.
While moderate to light heavy rains are forecast in the districts of South Gujarat. Rain is likely in Surat, Bharuch, Valsad and Navsari.

Thus, a rain alert has been issued in some parts of Saurashtra, including South Gujarat. Moderate to heavy rains are likely in Jamnagar, Porbandar and Dwarka. Along with this, fishermen have been appealed not to plow the sea.
The return of the monsoon this year could begin between September 24-26, a week later than the scheduled date of the monsoon calendar, September 17. The return of monsoon from Pokhran, Bikaner, Churu and Barmer in western Rajasthan will begin next week. This is the 11th and last low pressure area of the monsoon in the Bay of Bengal on Sunday, which will extend from East India to West India till September 23.
This was preceded by a low pressure area on 13 September, followed by five lows on August 1, two highs in July and one low pressure area except for a natural hurricane in June. After becoming a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, it became part of Odisha and West Bengal. Beyond Bengal, it passes through Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh or Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan with light to heavy rains with clouds.

Kuldeep Srivastava, a meteorologist with the Meteorological Department, says the announcement of the return of the monsoon at any place should be met on two conditions. The pattern of the first wind changes, i.e. about one and a half km from the surface.
Elevation creates anti-cyclonic circulation (per cyclone), with westerly winds blowing and no rain for the last five days. According to meteorologist Anand Kumar, the easterly winds bring moisture to the Bay of Bengal. If there is evidence in the satellite images that the air has run out of moisture, then the return of the monsoon is considered to have begun.
Monsoon scientist DS Pai says the monsoon is likely to return to western Rajasthan between September 24-26. According to the monsoon calendar, the monsoon returned to areas of western Rajasthan on December 1 last year.
That date is set for September 17, 16 days ahead of the monsoon pattern from 1971 to 2019, but it is likely to be about a week late in the first year. Last year the monsoon began to return historically at its earliest on October 9th. The return of the monsoon began on October 1, 1961 and September 30, 2007.
On the other hand, the meteorological department had issued red alerts in eight districts in Kerala after heavy rains on Sunday. It also forecast heavy rains and hail in several districts of Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Uttarakhand.
