A fire broke out at Dwarka House (a place for storing ready-made sarees) in the Begumpura area of ​​the city at midnight. Seventeen fire station vehicles arrived at the scene and managed to contain the blaze on the third floor within five hours. Although the fire is estimated to have caused more than Rs 3 crore damage, no casualties were reported, said fire officer Parikh.

Not only that, but the fire was so fierce that a large quantity of sari stored on the first and second floor was burnt to ashes as it engulfed the adjoining Kabra House. Two tempos filled with a quantity of sari were also burnt in the mishap after the blaze. Five floors of two houses were gutted in the fire.

The sound of explosion was heard: eyewitness

Deepakbhai (Putha's trader) said that my goods arrived at night and they were taking delivery. Suddenly a loud bang was heard, running away, flames were coming out of the Dwarka house. Immediately informed the fire and power company by phone. By then the flames had fallen on two tampas filled with park sarees in the parking lot and both tampas had burned right in front of my eyes. The Kabra House next door was engulfed in flames before a fire truck arrived. However, a very large accident could have been avoided if the fire truck had run within minutes.

7 fire station vehicles arrived at the scene

The fire department said it received the call around midnight on Sunday. In Begampura, 3 floors along the ground were reported to be on fire. After the incident was reported, 17 vehicles of 7 fire stations of the fire department immediately rushed to the spot, where 3 floors and terraces along the ground in Dwarka House were on fire. The fire was so fierce that all the firefighters rushed to the spot and put out the fire in 5 hours.

The fire caused an estimated loss of crores of rupees

He added that the fire at Dwarka House also engulfed two tampas filled with saris and two floors of the adjoining Kabra House, which consumed a large quantity of saris placed in both the house and in Tampa.
