Three children, including a newborn, were killed when a rickshaw plunged into a 30-foot-deep ravine in a dry lake in Nanikodi village near Dahod this morning, while three women were rescued. As soon as the incident was reported, Dahod police rushed to the spot and with the help of fire brigade recovered the bodies of the three children from the lake.
Happiness was snatched away within hours after the baby was born
Rangaliben Kalsingbhai Mavi, 25, of Chosala village in Dahod taluka, went to the Retia PHC center with two other women and two children from her village to give birth. The family was overjoyed when a healthy baby was born at their home, and this morning, on their way back to Chosala in a private rickshaw, a rickshaw plunged into a 30-foot-deep lake in Nanidoki village. Three unfortunate children, including a newborn baby, were killed and three other women were rushed to a private hospital in Dahod via 108.

Locals informed the fire brigade
People in the area rushed to the spot and immediately informed the fire brigade. So the fire brigade exhumed the bodies of the three children and the police have sent the bodies for postmortem.
