The multiplex will open from October 15, SOP announced: 50% seating capacity will be allowed, one seat will be booked; A 1-minute film on Corona Awareness has to be shown in the theater

The government on Tuesday issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for multiplexes opening after 7 months between Corona. Multiplexes with 50 per cent capacity are allowed to open from October 15. Physical distance must be maintained though. The seat between the two will be vacant.

Only packaged food will be allowed inside the hall. Proper ventilation must be arranged. The temperature of the AC will be kept at 23 degrees. A 1 minute film is required for Corona's awareness before or after the show. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, while announcing the SOP, said that it is better if multiplex tickets are booked online. However, box office will also be open in single screen theaters.

How to get entry?


Contact number must be provided for contact tracing.
There will be thermal screening. Must wear a mask. Only asymptomatic people will get entry.
Those who do not follow Corona's guidelines will be prosecuted.

What will the seating arrangement be like?

No more than 50 per cent seating can be arranged in the cinema hall.
Bookings can only be made by leaving one seat.
Not to be occupied will be written on the remaining seats.
Such a seat has to be taped or marked.
One person after another cannot sit.
The back seat of the empty seat can be booked.

Online / distance learning will be prioritized and promoted.

If a student wants to attend an online class, he or she may be allowed to do so.

Students can come to school / coaching class only with the written permission of parents. No pressure of presence should be put on them.

The state will prepare its own SOP based on the SOP of the Department of Education for Health and Safety.

Any school that opens must comply with the SOP of the state education department.

Rules for opening colleges and higher education institutions

The Department of Higher Education will decide when colleges and higher education institutions will open. Talks will be held with the Home Ministry for this. The guidelines of the education department are as follows.

Prioritize and promote online / distance learning

Currently, the institute will be open only to Research Scholars (Ph.D) and PG students who have to work in the lab. Even among the Centre's aided organizations, their heads will decide if labwork is needed. State universities or private universities may open their own according to local guidelines.
