The decision to reopen Std 10 and 12 schools from January 11 was taken at a cabinet meeting, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama announced today. The state government has started preparations to start schools as per the Corona guidelines of the central government. The SOP announced by the Central Government will have to be strictly followed

Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama has said that the educational work of Std-10 and 12 and the last year of graduation and post-graduation will be started in the state from January 11, 2021. 

The decision was taken by the state government after a discussion in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel. Giving more details in this regard, the Education Minister added that this decision will be applicable to all the boards in the state. School colleges will have to strictly abide by the SOP announced by the central government to prevent the transmission of corona. All the instructions have been sent by the education department to all the institutions, Chudasama said.

Other measures must be taken to prevent the transmission of corona

For this, the principals and teachers at the local level have to coordinate with the primary health center and the community health center and make proper planning. Student attendance at school will not be mandatory.

Students are required to obtain parental consent to attend school

Besides, the online education system set up in the state will continue as per the norms. Students will not be given mass promotion. The same amount of academic work will be examined in the school, he added. The state government is also considering when to start other standard classes and a decision will be taken soon.

Schools and fogeys need to lookout of those things

The SOP will be applicable to all government, grant-in-aid and self-finance schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, social justice and empowerment department as well as Adi Jati Vikas department schools of all the boards in the state.

Student attendance at school is not mandatory.
