The government launched the Kanya Shri Prakalp Yojana for daughters in 2013. Today, the scheme is being played abroad. The scheme was honored by the United Nations in 2017. Scholarships are given to the students of the school under this scheme.

The scheme protects the rights of women. As a result, feticide, child trafficking rates have dropped and the number of students going to school has increased. This means that the purpose of this scheme is the condition of the girls and their welfare. At the same time, under this scheme, an effort has been made to ensure that daughters do not get married before the age of 18. Let it be known that this was started by the Government of West Bengal and this is an ambitious plan of CM Mamata Banerjee.

It was started in the year 2013 according to the Women and Child Development Department of West Bengal. Till the year 2017, Rs. 7,588.90 crore was provided under this scheme and Rs. 7,237.28 crore was spent.

According to media reports, more than 57 lakh people have so far registered for the scheme and more than 56 lakh people have directly benefited from it. The highest number of 5,49,415 people have registered in the North 24 Parganas.
