New Delhi: A post on WhatsApp and several social media platforms is rapidly going viral. The post claims, "In view of rising unemployment, the central government will provide home-based employment for the unemployed on Mahatma Gandhi's birthday."
According to this post, those who have a smart phone can earn 1 to 2 thousand rupees a day by working 2 to 3 hours at home under this scheme. A link to apply on a viral post is also provided. The last date for joining is October 10.
The government has clarified for this viral report. PIB Fact Check has termed it as fake news. The Mahatma Gandhi Unemployment Scheme is not run by the central government, the PIB said in a post. News that is going viral is false, don't pay attention to it.
