Bizarre accident: A young man from Ahmedabad hit a lorry with an unnumbered Mercedes, did not look forward when the airbag was opened and crushed two bikers

  • The incident took place on the highway from Chiloda to Himmatnagar
  • Car-bike plunged into divider after collision, one at the scene, another at hospital
  • The car was at such a speed that the bike and the car were blown away after colliding with a divider.
  • Suspecting that Jinesh was driving under the influence of alcohol, a blood sample was taken

A Mercedes driver living in Bopal on the highway from Chiloda to Himmatnagar hit a lorry and a biker, killing two.

According to police sources, Jugaji Parmar and Kalyan Solanki, both residents of Ranchodpura village in Dahegam taluka, were working as painters. As they were on their way home from work around 9 pm on Monday, an unmarked Mercedes car collided with a worship truck parked near the Giod Ambaji temple. The car then collided head-on with the bike. 

Jugaji Parmar died on the spot while both his bike and car rammed into the divider, while Kalyan Solanki died during treatment. In the preliminary investigation, the driver of the car hit the lorry near the temple and opened the airbag, so that nothing could be seen ahead.

Further action will be taken after Corona's test

The accused was identified as Jinesh Mukeshbhai Todia (Jain, 28, ISKCON Platinum), a native of Rajkot and a resident of Bopal area for five years. Following the accident, Chiloda police have arrested him and are in the process of testing his corona, as well as taking a blood sample to check whether he was actually driving under the influence of alcohol.

There was also a young woman with the accused

The accused said in interrogation that he had forgotten his phone in Udaipur and was going to pick it up. On the other hand, according to the locals, he was accompanied by a young woman.

While they were having dinner at the hotel, a quarrel broke out between the two and the young woman was walking towards the Giod temple. Jinesh was driving at full speed to pick up the girl.
