 Tragedy: A young man jumps into the river with his fianc and shortens his life

The body of a young man who left home on Saturday was found in a river near Bedi Bridge on Sunday

The body was found from a river under a bridge near the bed of a transgender youth living in a society on Morbi Road in the city. It came to light that the youth had committed suicide by jumping into the river after leaving home with his fianc.

Staff of the B-Division police station, including PSI BB Kodiatar, rushed to the spot when it was learned that a body had fallen into the Aji river under a bridge near Bedi on Morbi Road in Rajkot. Police investigating the mobile found near the body revealed that the deceased was Jitendra Magnaram Chauhan (U.V. 26), a native of Rajasthan, a resident of Radhamira Society on Morbi Road.

The young man's body was found and suspicion of murder was raised, although the postmortem revealed that the young man died from drowning. The younger of the six siblings, Jitendra Radhamira lived in the society and worked as a furniture laborer, police sources said.

He was engaged to a young woman from Uttar Pradesh. There was a general altercation between the two while talking on a mobile with his fianc on Saturday. A preliminary police investigation revealed that the youth had committed suicide due to a quarrel with his fianc.
